Bio
I'm Gabriel and I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I have an interest in renewable energy and its large scale deployment in the electric grid, and I'm a PhD student at UC Berkeley where I focus on the control of power systems. In my free time, I enjoy drinking and learning about espresso, playing volleyball, and having a good time with friends.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Intro to power system operations
In this project, my goal is to introduce students to how power systems work, from a high level, to some of the more technical details. The project would be student-led and mostly consist of reading existing works on power system fundamentals.

Spanish (native proficiency). French (basic proficiency).Teaching experience
Most teaching I've done has been limited to short tutorials where I describe technical concepts in my field of research in an accesible way for the benefit of scientists outside of my field. I've mentored many students over the years, from undergrads to junior grad students.Credentials
